Students enrolled in this course will apply the fundamentals of English they learned in previous English courses to enhance their ability to formulate and write insightful, supported, intelligent essays --- a skill that will be mandatory in the personal, academic, and professional life of a Christian leader.

This course is designed to familiarize students with basic principles of formal English with the goal of helping students improve the fundamental oral and written communication skills required in academic, personal, and professional settings.   
This course in British literature is designed to meet part of the English requirements for graduation. Its prerequisites are GSCE 141 and GSCE 142 or approved transfer credits. This course is a survey of the British novel. The course introduces literary criticism, emphasizes the major themes of literature, and relates British literature to the Christian experience.
