This course prepares the prospective early childhood educator with practical experience in the assessment of young children. The student will have guidance in developmentally appropriate best practices related to the observation, screening and assessment of children ages birth to 8 years. 3 credit hours
The focus of this course is speech, language and literacy development of children from birth to 8 years of age. Emphasis is placed on the overall development of children and more specifically the broad category of language, and the subsequent development of literacy. 3 credit hours
